Using Stock and Volatility Charts |
|
|
Stock and Volatility Charts provide a great way to see what's happening to
the stock price and volatility. To open a chart click on the Stock and
Volatility Chart button. The first
thing you will see is an indicator selection window. All of the indicators are provided as a convenience for those who may use them. They are unsupported. If you don't know what they are then you probably don't need them for option trading. If you need help using the charts, we can help, but we cannot tell you what parameters work best, or how to interpret the indicators. Volatility Ratio As it states this indicator lets you select 2 different volatilities and then Odds Online divides the first by the second. Volatility History This allows you to select two volatilities to display on your chart. After selecting your indicator you are then able to select
parameters for you indicators. To display your chart, click the Show Graph
button.
The chart has a couple of features for your analysis. First you can use the zoom feature to isolate any part of the chart. To use the zoom you just click at the start of the point you want to zoom in on, and then drag your mouse to the end of the area you want to view. After zooming in you can zoom out by clicking the zoom out button at the top of the screen. Next, you have 2 line fields labeled Line 1 and Line 2. Entering a value in these fields and clicking the Apply button will draw a line across the bottom indicator window at the value entered. The third tool is a scroll bar at the bottom of the page. This scroll bar allows you to get detailed information on each day of data. Next we will learn how to use the Profit /
Loss Graph. |
